what impact on the U.S did the Ford automoblie have?

It was cheaper and more affordable to run than the cars that preceded it were so it helped the general population get into cars. Before the Model T came along, cars were seen as more for only the wealthy and elite. Also, the employees at the Ford plants were paid $5 minimum a day for an 8-hour day starting in 1914. This more than doubled his employees earnings at the time (they made about $2.35 before he announced this). This was a very good wage for the time and was much higher than average for a factory worker during this time period. This was a huge deal because it meant that the employees that made the cars could actually afford the cars (something Henry Ford believed in). On a larger scale, it helped build the American middle class society.
