By the way, it's actually "Factoring Trinomials with a Common Factor."

what two numbers 

a) multiply to 45

AND

b) add to -9

at the same time

well looking at this problem there may be a typo... and I don't think the expression can be factored. 

I think it has complex roots

I don't think my teacher would do put the problem on the homework if it did have complex roots. But I don't know. Anyways, thanks to you both.
