can someone help he with this problem?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what log property would you think might help out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a^y=x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

notifications are not coming thru

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i was thinking more of: loga + logb = log(ab)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

as such log[(x-8)^2] = 1 since we are in base 4, then log(4) = 1 solve: (x-8)^2 = 4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

also because of the way the problem is presented; (x-8) > 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its a?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x=10 yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (amistre64):
