Simplify 2log2(8x)

OpenStudy (aum):

\[ \large 2\log_2(8x)\] ?

OpenStudy (aum):

Is that what we need to simplify? logarithm to the base 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes 2log2(8x) 16x log2(8x) 8 8x these are the options

OpenStudy (aum):

Based on the options I think the question may be to simplify \[\Large 2^{\log_2(8x)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats is wrong not an option thats the problem being simplified

OpenStudy (lyrae):

Well, \[2 \log_2(8x) = 2 \space(log_2(8)+log_2(x)) = 6+ 2 \space log_2(x)\] and dosen't macth any of the given optiones.

OpenStudy (aum):

I have been trying to figure out what the problem is. First I posted the question in my first reply and you confirmed that was the question. The answer does not match that question. Now I posted a different question asking if that was the problem. You are saying now this is the problem?

OpenStudy (aum):

\[\Large 2^{\log_2(8x)} = 8x\]

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Aum is correct. If that is the question. Then the answer must be '8x'. If not, I dont think the option is there.

OpenStudy (aum):

\[\large 2\log_2(8x) ~~~~~~\Large 2^{\log_2(8x)}\]The above two are two very different problems. The answer choice of 8x matches the second one and there is no answer choice that matches the first one.

yes ur correct thank you very much
