am new in using a computer and I want to be a programmer how can I start?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

There are a ton of free, online classes in computer science.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah tons of them ^ i think one is called codeacademy, just google it, should bring up a number of them.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I am not a big fan of code academy. I found their lessons to be uninformative a lot of the time and with very little relationship to the rigors of proper computer science. However, many schools have given away their classes for free. Some are self paced, some are actual classes with deadlines. This lets anyone learn the proper way of programming and tackling computer problems/projects.

I would suggest you start by joining a class online. There are a ton of free classes. Some websites have you run through a tutorials, which is nice. Here are some places to start. udemy, instaedu, codeavengers, code.org, cafeaulait.org/course, coursera, edx, futurelearn, saylor academy
