which of the following statements is true? 1.during active transport, a material may be moved from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration 2. during passive transportation, energy is used to move material against a concentration gradient 3. during active transportation, water is pumped across a membrane to equalize the concentration of salts on both sides 4. during passive transport, osmosis allows salt to move from one dies of the membrane to the other to equalize concentrations on both sides.

active transport requires the expenditure of energy, and it goes against the concentration gradient (from low to high) And diffusion is passive (meaning it follows the concentration which is high to low) and it's in equilibrium that means it keeps moving both directions at the same rate, and the net change is zero but there is moving. so C. Water moves into the cell to equilibrate the concentrations in both of the systems.
