How does DNA influence the synthesis of lipids, carbohydrates, and steroids? Base triplets that do not code for amino acids, code for the components of these compounds. The proteins that DNA codes for catalyze the reactions that synthesize these compounds. Junk DNA and stop codons are recycled to code for non-protein molecules. The tRNA that binds to the large subunit also carries the functional groups to synthesize these compounds. DNA has no influence, direct or indirect, on the synthesis of non-protein molecules.
