A hole of radius r is bored through the center of a sphere of radius R. Find the volume V of the remaining portion of the sphere.

If you want an accurate answer we can use calculus. We can get an approximate value using algebra where we assume the central hole that is drilled is a cylinder when it is really not because the top and bottom ends of the cylinder are curved but we can assume they are flat.
