The moral of Coyote and the Buffalo story is that being a “trickster” can backfire on you if you over do it. When the Coyote decided to go with the Buffalo Bull to find Young Buffalo, he was only using that as a disguise to get as many buffalo as possible for his uses. Karma got him back when the old woman offers to cook the bones, but what she really did was steal the marrow-fat and the boiled grease. Magic also results in the remaining bones being turned into tree stumps.
