Each of the waves of Feminism have come on the "coattails" of other movements: 1st wave - Abolition of Slavery, 2nd - Civil Rights and Anti-War, 3rd - Cultural Awareness. Why do you think these movements needed a bigger issue to come to the forefront? In other words, why are women's rights and equality secondary to the other movements?

Women's rights issues are considered secondary because women are considered secondary. Society tends to think of men as the primary and better gender (which is why patriarchy and misogyny is such a huge issue) and women are just here to provide pleasure to men or to play the role of the "housewife".
