Why exactly does x-1/1-x = -1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-1/-(x-1)=-1

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

oooooooohhh

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

I see now, at first I always thought x-1/-(x-1) would cancel out, but then I saw a video of a teacher solving a problem and x-1/-(x-1) equaled -1 because they were opposites, I didn't grasp it until now heheh

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

Thanks ^_^
