Is Tim's function correct. why or why not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#2. I've already used the quadratic formula and completing the square to solve and got -1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just don't know what it means

OpenStudy (gorv):

3rd Q???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#2

OpenStudy (gorv):

16t^2+8t+1=(4t)^2+2*1*4t+1^2

OpenStudy (gorv):

=(4t+1)^2

OpenStudy (gorv):

so t=-1/4

OpenStudy (gorv):

but t represent time

OpenStudy (gorv):

and time cant be negative

OpenStudy (gorv):

so its not correct

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

If you found -1/4 as high when t=0 then the function is no good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. thanks :)

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

H(t) should equal 0 when t=0.
