Minerals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnks i have another one, wht are sediments

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sediments are the matter that settles to the bottom of water. but in geology, sediments are organic or mineral matter deposited by air, water, or ice.

Actually, the answer your teacher is probably looking for are the three types of rock classification: Metamorphic, Sedimentary, and Igneous. Sediments are bits and pieces of broken down rock, caused by weathering. (weathering means exposure to nature, like wind or water constantly hitting a rock and sediment pieces break off)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

last one Contrast chemical and biochemical sedimentary rocks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bio chemical is when plants and animals mix into sediments and become rock over time- that is what fossils are. Chemical is when the rock is only made up of sediments, but I could be wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think tht is right i apprecate it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imsoory last one Conglomerate is an example of which type of clastic sedimentary rocks?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah... that's the end of my eighth grade geology knowledge. You could google it?
