Write the equation of the line parallel to x = -12 and contains the point (-5,8).

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

x = -12 is a vertical line. Just make your new line go through x = -5. Whoops! Just telling you how to do it, the answer just popped out. That's embarrassing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer would be?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

x = -5, like I accidentally said. Vertical lines aren't tricky, once you get the hang of it. Horizontal lines look like this, y = 4 -- or something like that.
