A tertiary consumer, is one who eats a secondary consumer.

Basically, you have to know about the food chain.

First, you have a PRODUCER (this can be a plant, or grass, or tree)

The producer gets eaten by the PRIMARY CONSUMER (this can be an insect, for example)

Then, the insect (primary consumer) gets eaten by the SECONDARY CONSUMER (this can be a frog in this example)

At last, the frog is the secondary consumer, meaning it gets eaten by the TERTIARY CONSUMER (let's say it's an owl in this case)
