Probability 19 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the probability of getting any triple digit number where all the digits are the same in a lottery game that consists of picking a three digit number that contains the digit 0-7. Round to three decimal places.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how many 3 digit numbers can we form? how many numbers can we make altogether?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

was just wondering if we can use a number more than once, but then if not we couldnt make the triples

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you changed 1 to 0, is 000 a valid pick?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it would be a valid pick

OpenStudy (amistre64):

do you agree that 8 picks are possible? and if we use base properties, 8 digits 888 there are 8^3 total?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

in decimal we have 10 digits 523 = 5(10^2) + 2(10^1) + 3(10^0) 000 to 999 is 1000 total, or 10^3 000 to 777 is 8^3 seems right
