a car with a mass of 1000 kg is traveling 10 m/s.calculate the car's kinetic energy. show your work and include the proper unit with your answer. plez need help now. give a medal

OpenStudy (mrnood):

What is the formula for calculating kinetic energy? Hint: it has m and v in it What is the unit of energy? If you use the units in the question for mass (kg) and velocity (m/s) then the number you get fro energy will be in the correct units... However you would be advised to write in in engineering units for instance 1000m = 1km etc.

I still don't get it

@mrNood can u plez help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kinetic energy is calculated using: \[\frac{ mv^2 }{ 2 }\]

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@Abdikillem That means you square the velocity, multiply by the mass, and divide by 2 that will give you the value for the Kinetic Energy Look up the units in your book or on google If oyu are waiting for the answer - you will not get it from me. There is all the help you need in the posts above, so I hope no-one else will give the complete answer either.
