OpenStudy (bgrg007):

why is d^3 y/dt^3 +t(dy/dt) +(cos^2 t)y=t^3 considered linear? can someone explain this to me please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's linear in y. check out this link, very helpful http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Classes/DE/DE.aspx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you look up the definition of linear differential equation on that site, it explains it very well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you there?

OpenStudy (bgrg007):

thank you! :)
