A cyclist rides her bike at a speed of 18 kilometers per hour. What is this speed in meters per second? How many meters will the cyclist travel in 2 seconds? Do not round your answers.

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

in meters per second it is 64.8

OpenStudy (here_to_help15):

so uyou think you can o the rest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, thank you, how did you get to 64.8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18km/h = 5m/s. km/h is actually kilometers divided by hours. So you take each one separately and convert it: kilometers to meters and hours to seconds. 18km= (18 x 1000)m =18000 and 1 hour =(60 x 60)s = 3600. Now you divide 18000m by 3600s which gives me 5m/s.
