\[Sa=2\pi r h+2\pi r^2\] h= 4 r=.94/2 = .47 \[sa=2\pi (.47)(4)+2\pi(.47)^2\] \[sa=2\pi (1.88)+2\pi(.2209)\] \[sa=3.76\pi+.4418\pi\] \[sa=4.2018\pi\] \[sa=4.2018\times3.14\] \[sa=13.193652\approx13.19\]
You can also put the radius and height into http://www.google.com/#q=surface+area+of+a+cylinder And it will tell you the answer is approximately 13.20 which is close to 13.19 It is 13.20 becasue 4.2018 is multiplied by 3.14159265359 but the directions say multiply it just by 3.14 @ajc01 you were wrong. Just stop trying to get medals and actually help out the person..
