Please help. Find the solutions of g(X). Show each step. g(x) = x^2 +6x + 1

OpenStudy (gorv):

we need to factor here

OpenStudy (gorv):

x^2+6x+1 we cannot factor directly so we need to use quadratic formula

OpenStudy (gorv):

\[x=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4*a*c}}{ 2*a }\]

OpenStudy (gorv):

standard eqn is ax^2+bx+c on comparing the 2 eqn we get a=1 b=6 c=1

OpenStudy (gorv):

put these values in formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have already simplified the function. I jst don't understand what the solutions would be.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry don't know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's ok. I'll figure it out. :)
