What is the answer? Please tell me how you got it. http://i.imgur.com/Wv09fsK.png

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it tells you a^2+b^2=c^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And it gives you the values for a and b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what do YOU think that you do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[C = \sqrt{8} ?\]

@TheWaffleMan149

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well lets see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If A=2 and B=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then A^2+B^2=C^2 --> (2)^2+(4)^2=C^2 --> 4+16=C^2---> 20=C^2---> C= sqrt 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I accidentally multiplied 4 by 2 instead of 4 by 4. Thanks!

No problem!!!
