2 + a/4 = -1

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

are you looking for a ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

if so, then multiply everything by the common denominator which is 4 2(4) + (a/4)(4) = -1(4) 8 + a = -4 --- subtract 8 from both sides a = -4 - 8 a = - 12 check.. 2 + a/4 = -1 2 + (-12/4) = -1 2 - 3 = -1 -1 = -1 (correct) a is gonna be equal to -12 any questions ?
