Explain the relationships among the following organelles: ribosomes, RER, SER, Golgi body, lysosomes and secretory vesicles.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Ribosomes are the organelles which synthesize proteins. These are present on endoplasmic reticulum (E.R). Endoplasmic reticulum which possess ribosomes are called as Rough endoplasmic reticulum or R.E.R and those which do not are called as Smooth endoplasmic reticulum or S.E.R. Golgi bodies are the organelles which are concerned with lipid metabolism and packing of materials. These are formed from endoplasmic reticulum. Secretion of golgi bodies are packed in vesicle like structure and transported outside outside the cell. These vesicles are called as secretory vesicles. Endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi body, vesicles are all part of the endomembrane system of the cell.
