if I have the same number of protons and electrons, what type of charge would the atom have?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

a proton has 1 unit of positive charge an electron has 1 unit of negative charge the resultant charge on an atom (more strictly "ion" if it has a charge) is got from adding all the charges. so if there are equal positive and negative - what do you get when you add them? (hint- what is +1 added to -1 ?)
