very quick question somebdy>?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplify the following complex fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you solve that???

OpenStudy (igreen):

Dividing by a fraction is the same thing as multiplying by its reciprocal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya but. how do u solve it what is the first step?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Reciprocal is the flip side of a fraction. The reciprocal of \(\dfrac{1}{3}\) is \(\dfrac{3}{1}\) or \(3\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.....

OpenStudy (igreen):

Just putting the number on the bottom on the top, and the number on the top on the bottom.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u draw it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so whats the answer is what i'm asking so i can leave?

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(\dfrac{\dfrac{1}{6}}{0.6 - \dfrac{2}{3}} \rightarrow \dfrac{\dfrac{1}{6}}{\dfrac{3}{5} - \dfrac{2}{3}} =-2.5\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank u

OpenStudy (igreen):

No problem.
