What's the stereotype of Native Americans and alcoholism?

There is a common stereotype that native americans are all alcoholic. There is a high frequency of alcoholism among some American Indians and reservations. As with most groups, the incidence of substance abuse is related to issues of poverty and mental distress, both of which may be, in part, the result of racial stereotyping and discrimination.
