OpenStudy (escapethefate):

Reproductive cells are created by _____. A. mitosis B. meiosis C. cytokinesis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Meiosis produces daughter cells that have one half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell. So 50% from the mother and 50% from the father. Meanwhile mitosis produces two daughter cells that are completely identical to the parent cell. Assume a parent cell is haploid (N), then the daughter cells will be haploid likewise if the parent cell was a diploid. I think that explanation is well enough to show that meiosis is the answer you are looking for. Just think that mitosis is for cell reproduction while meiosis is for sexual reproduction. Peace.
