Why would a diverse population be more resistant to disease, predation, andinvasion?

A diverse population would be more resistant to these factors because the organism number of species in a population can accomadate for losses by predators, resistant to disease due to high tolerance range each member possesses and different immunity to different diseases. Also more diverse population tend to out-compete other invasive species gaining dominance.
