did you find the zeros?

set the equation equal to 0.\[x^{2}-4x-8=0\] then use the quadratic formula to solve for x.\[x=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac} } {2a}\] in this case, a = 1, b = -4, and c = -8. the two answers that you get should be your factors, and you can use them in the form (x+a)(x+b)=0.
