HELP ASAP PLZ MEDALS WILL BE GIVEN OUT!!! A stack of quarters is packed in a plastic tube 4 inches tall. The diameter of each quarter is 0.94 inch. What is the approximate surface area of the cylinder formed by the stack of coins? (Use 3.14 for .)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula for finding the surface area of a cylinder is 2πrh+2πr^2, with r being the radius and h being the height. substitute in your numbers. your height is 4, and radius is half of the diameter of the quarter, so .47. 2π(.47)(4)+2π^2 then just do the math 2π(1.88)+2π^2 3.76π+2π^2 11.8064+19.7192 31.5256

this came out weird, sorry. all of the question marks just means one pi sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here 2(3.14)(.47)(4)+2(3.14)^2 then just do the math 2(3.14)(1.88)+2(3.14)^2 3.76(3.14)+2(3.14)^2 11.8064+19.7192 31.5256

for future reference google "surface area formula for a cylinder" and just input the height and radius. that gives me a little bit of a different answer (13.2) not sure why

a 18.4 in2 b 2.77 in2 c 13.19 in2 d 3.76 in2 @kah.x these r the answer choices
