someone to check some answers? screenshots attached
i didnt do the last one, im not sure of the answer on that one
how you did first one can you just tell me the final answer i mean x is what
For the last one, first of all, add 3 both the sides and tell what do you get?
First) No good. Reverse inequality when multiplying or dividing by a negative number. How did you conclude what you marked?
With the third one -2x-3 > 21 First move 3 to the other side so you get -2x > 21 + 3 -2x > 24 Now remember when you divide a inequality by a negative you have to reverse the symbol.
Second) No good. Why did you reverse the inequality?
If you show your work, and explain your reasoning, we will be able to provide more useful and specific help.
It is simple if you will look at this example: You very well know : \(5 > 3\) Now multiply both by \(-1\), and if you write : \(-5 > -3\), then you will be wrong because \(-5< -3\) So, when you divide or multiply by \(-\), you have to reverse the sign of inequality..
oh pellet i did these all wrong. im closing this question but i will post a new one in a minute with (hopefully) better answers. thank you
pellet? my computer has the weirdest auto correct
It is okay.. We learn very well from our mistakes.. :)
wait, you reverse the sign when you divide or multiply by a negative number and only then. right?
yep right
Lol, it's not your computer, the OS system has its own filter when people use curse words, so you saying craps synonym made it pellet.
Look at the example if you don't get why we are reversing that.. :)
Check this out. Do NOT multiply or divide by anything. -x > 5 Add x 0 > x + 5 Subtract 5 -5 > x Without having to REMEMBER anything, we see exactly why those silly negtives reverse things.
@iambatman that makes a lot more sense now haha
