Algebra 13 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

How does the graph of the function y=x^2 compare to the graph y=-5/2x^2? (5 over 2 is a fraction)

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Is that this:\[y=(-\frac{ 5 }{ 2 })x ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (imstuck):

The negative in front of the function turns it upside down. So it's a "mountain" instead of a "cup". got that so far?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Then the number out front makes the graph either really close to the y axis or really far away. Like this:|dw:1412838887735:dw|
