Why are prokaryotic cells smaller than Eukaryotic cells? Is this because, prokaryotic cells have simple structure with no complex organelles?

Hello @sstark , Welcome to OpenStudy ! Yes that's a big reason, prokaryotic cells are smaller becuase they have a very simple structure. They do not have membrane bound cell organelles, membrane bound nucleus and are very primitive.
