x^2+16=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright take your equation and what do you think the first step is to solve for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You will take 16 and subtract if from both sides so you now have x^2=-16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract the 16. x^2=-16 then divide by neg. 1 so you can square root it later. -x^2=16 now find the square root. -x=4 lastly divide by neg. 1 again. x=-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^There you go
