-4(p-6)+2p=|5-3+6|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you trying to find P?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im trying to simplify and solve for the unknown @mason437

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok is it multiple choice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nerp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok do you just want the answer or step by step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need the step by step I have the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok first we need to distribute the -4 in to the parenthesis. -4P+6+2P=|5-3+6|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what the two lines are on the outside of this |5-3+6|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its like the true value or something

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its saying that there are two versions of this formula. one is what you see w/out the lines, and the other is just the numbers inside the lines multiplied by -1. so there will be two answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2p-24=8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2p sorry

OpenStudy (gorv):

-4(p-6)+2p=|5-3+6| just take -4 inside and mod will alwys give positive value

OpenStudy (gorv):

-4p+24+2p=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @dumbo that correct.

OpenStudy (gorv):

-4p+2p+24=8 now solve it

OpenStudy (gorv):

24 will be positive -2P+24=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now get the p by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes 24 is pos. woops.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay so that's -2p=-16 which simplifies to p=8 thank you omg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw. if you need anymore help just msg me if you want.
