Northwest Ordinance of 1787, outlined terms for which territories would use to apply for statehood and outlawed the extension of slavery into new territories. The Enlightenment ideas expressed here are mostly involved with the outlaw of slavery into new territories. The ideas of John Locke, natural rights to life, liberty and property (or what it pursuit of happiness? ah whatever, who cares) are expressed in the new-found idea that slavery must be abolished because it is morally wrong because it violated natural rights. I believe the Northwest Ordinance is one of the earliest examples of the spread of ideas of the moral indecency of slavery due to the spread of these Enlightenment ideas. If I remember correctly!
