http://prntscr.com/4ujrac please help and explain

OpenStudy (bibby):

factor out the numerator

OpenStudy (linn99123):

yup i totally know wat that is T^T ... u do realize im blonde right?

OpenStudy (bibby):

why wouldn't I know the hair color of my future ex wife?

OpenStudy (linn99123):

LOL

OpenStudy (bibby):

Find the lowest common denominator between 5x and 15y

OpenStudy (linn99123):

ITS 5 ?

OpenStudy (bibby):

yesh

OpenStudy (linn99123):

T^T

OpenStudy (linn99123):

LOL now what

OpenStudy (bibby):

so factor the 5 out of the numerator. this is why I'd divorce you linny

OpenStudy (linn99123):

I dont need school when i has a bikini body T^T

OpenStudy (bibby):

I has a trophy wife face, the ability to do high school math, but no bikini body :(

OpenStudy (linn99123):

PSHHHH I GOT DAT BODY XD x - 15y

OpenStudy (linn99123):

x - 15y there like this?

OpenStudy (bibby):

factoring means you divide each term in the parentheses by the thing you're factoring. for example: factor 3 from (3x+6y) => 3(x+2y) factor 5 from (15x+20y) => 5(3x+4y)

OpenStudy (linn99123):

omg im so confused bib D:

OpenStudy (bibby):

to factor 5x-15y, we have to find the common denominator. the LCD is 5. now we know that our equation looks something like 5(blah blah blah)

OpenStudy (bibby):

so now we need to divide each term by the LCD: \(\huge \frac{5x}{5}\)

OpenStudy (linn99123):

sorry im back

OpenStudy (linn99123):

The lcd would be 5 or 1?

OpenStudy (bibby):

The LCD is 5. step 1: find the lcd. DONE step 2: divide each term by 5. \(\huge 5(\frac{5x}{5}-\frac{15y}{5})\) step 2: divide each term by 5. \(\huge 5(\frac{\cancel{5}x}{\cancel{5}}-\frac{3\cancel{15}y}{\cancel{5}})\) step 4: cancel \(\huge 5(x-3y)\)

OpenStudy (linn99123):

im so cnfused bib ill brb my brother just peed on the floor

OpenStudy (bibby):

beat him up

OpenStudy (linn99123):

i cant

OpenStudy (linn99123):

OKay so the LCD is 5 right

OpenStudy (linn99123):

ohh its D

OpenStudy (bibby):

it is

OpenStudy (linn99123):

i think o.o

OpenStudy (linn99123):

im going with D xD

OpenStudy (bibby):

"it is" - bibby 5 minutes ago

OpenStudy (bibby):

I need to slap some sense into you bby

OpenStudy (linn99123):

Ohh.. do it T^T

OpenStudy (bibby):

let the record show she wanted it
