What is 68.9281 rounded to the nearest tenth? I think it would be 68.9 or possibly 69.0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

68.9 because you're rounding to the nearest tenth, not whole number

OpenStudy (linn99123):

OKay thanks rounding always got me confused /.\

OpenStudy (bibby):

\(\large 68.9\)\(\huge\bf2\) 2 is less than 5

OpenStudy (linn99123):

@bibby hwta is it T.T

OpenStudy (bibby):

to round to a certain place you have to look at the digit after it. if it's 5 or up you round up, otherwise round down. here we're rounding to the tenths place. that's the one right after the decimal, so we look at the place after that. it's a 2 which is less than 5, so we round down

OpenStudy (bibby):

68.9\(\ \bf 2\)=>68.9
