Choose the equation that represents the graph below. Graph of a line passing through points negative 2 comma 0 and 0 comma negative 4 y = -2x - 4 y = 2x + 4 y = -2x + 4 y = 2x - 4

y=mx+b. Where m=slope and b=y-intercept. First you need to find the slope. Use this \[m=\frac{ y2-y1 }{ x2-21 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

After you've found the slope. Just substitute a coordinate into the equation and solve for b. Once you have the values of m and b. You can then create the equation for the graph.

can you give more details i dont understand this stuff at all

Use the points that they gave you. (-2,0) and (0,-4) m= 0+4/-2-0 m= 4/-2 m= -2. -2 is the slope. so now you have y=2x+b. Solve for b using one of the points. The points are in the form of (x,y). y=2x+b 0=2(-2)+b 0=-4+b 4=b. So for y=mx+b. You have m=2 and b=4. Therefore the equation is y=2x+4
