anything * 1 is itself -(3/4)(-8x)(4/3)(4y)(1) = -(3/4)(-8x)(4/3)(4y) (3/4)*(4/3) = 1 so ... -(-8x)(4y) divide by 4 .. -(-2x)*(y) multiply out the negative .. 2x*-y
