a ball is thrown vertically upward to a height of 19.6m and allowed to strike the ground. If it loses one fourth of its speed while in contact with the ground, how high does it rise on the rebound?

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

The answer is found in the 5 basic kinematic formulae: https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/5-kinematic-equations.710089/ Find the initial upward velocity, and use 3/4 of that for the second initial velocity.
