50/6 as a mixed number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm i think thats all it can be divided into let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats a fraction not a mixed number

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

8 2/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that has to be simplified

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has to be a number not a fraction

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

He/she didnt ask for it simplified

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mcnabkt you dont get the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@animal_lover36 understands it.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

8 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh well im not the best at math, i was just trying to see if i could get it ugh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol :) well can you answer or help me understand how to do a few of my own

OpenStudy (anonymous):

;-]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 1 3/8 divided by 3/8 how do i solve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be 1 9/64?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gtg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay :/

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

you have to make 1 3/8 into a improper fraction first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you make them into improper fractions is that where i multiply the top and bottom by a different number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@animal_lover36 simplifyed, for the original question that I had... 8 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh haha i see it its backwards though LOL

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

yea that what it would be simplifies i wasnt sure whether u needed it simplified or not.

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

simplified*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats ok lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says find the quotient. simplify the answer i just nee the formula or steps to work through im just learning soooo many different equations in math i forget and im doing an online class so makes it harder

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

11/8 x 8/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soo 88/24 then simplify?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11/3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

yes 11/3 then change it into a mixed number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

grr lol i forgot how to do that

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

Lol its okay...it would be 3 2/3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks, and do you have steps i can just write down so i can just look back over them on my other problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Steps?

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

hold on a sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like... for equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would 5/7 divided by 5/7 be 1/7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What kind of equation?

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

Step 1. Turn the second fraction (the one you want to divide by) upside down (this is now a reciprocal). Step 2. Multiply the first fraction by that reciprocal Step 3. Simplify the fraction (if needed)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TheSmartOne, show them an equation step that i am talking about lol and yes @animal_lover36 something like that but more visual. hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just search equation steps on google and its like the second picture on ther

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

oh and 5/7 divided by 5/7 is 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean *6th or any like that and oh *facepalm

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

This might help... http://www.mathsisfun.com/fractions_division.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 1/3 divided by (-2/7) would be 2 -2/21 then simplify? and okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that looks like it will help alot thanks :)

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

No problem :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait where do i type the problem in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh *facepalm LOLOLOL nvm ill just read and follow the steps

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):

Lol if u want a fraction calculator... http://www.helpwithfractions.com/fraction-calculator/ scroll down :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that will help thank you again lol

OpenStudy (animal_lover36):
