Have you considered simplifying each? Get something like this: 3 = 3 -- Well, that's an identity. Get something like this: 3 = 2 -- Well, that's a contradiction. Get something like this: x = 4 -- Well, that's conditionally true and is neither identity nor contradiction. Go!
