(4y-9)^2

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you know formula (a-b)^2 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it equals a^2-ab+b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the problem wants me to factor it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am i suppose to first distribute and then factor?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so (a-b)^2 = a^2 -2ab +b^2 so then you need factorit it (4y-9)^2 =(4y-9)(4y-9) or not ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

but you can make again 4y = (2sqrty)^2 so in this case us formula a^2 -b^2 =(a-b)8a+b)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

sorry there i have missed a parentheses a^2 -b^2 =(a-b)(a+b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I thought but i wasn't sure if I needed to solve first and then factor.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so then now can you solve it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. thank you

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

was my pleasure good luck bye
