What are some things that have a negative effect on a child’s self-esteem? How are children affected by these factors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bullying no love and being alone

Not being told I love you, being told constantly that they are wrong, never praised by parents, Being told they aren't good enough, pick picked on, many things

They are affected in that it can make the child feel worthless, or unloved. They can feel like a mistake, or like they are not good enough.

Also being talked down to, that one can be big. If you are constantly talking down to your child they can feel stupid, or like at least in the parents eyes they are stupid. It feels like your parents let limits on you. Like they don't think you are capable of more.
