PLEASE HELP ASAP!! The measures of two supplementary angles are 3x + 28 and 4x – 2. What are the measures of the two angles?

OpenStudy (freckles):

supplementary means they add up to 180 deg

OpenStudy (triciaal):

as above so (3 x + 28) + (4 x -2) = 180 group like terms , simplify and solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so now i have 7x+26=180. is that right?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

after you have x you can find 3 x + 28 one angle and 4 x -2 the other

OpenStudy (triciaal):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and then i do 7x=154 and divide both sides by 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my answer would be 22?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

x = 22 now find the angles
