elimination can work but you have to multiply one of equation to get either x or y with same coefficient

yeah so multiply equation to get the equation balance 
but in your this question you have to multiply both equation

Then that would cancel out the y's....

O.o Wait, but if I multiplied by 2 and 3, it would also cancel out the x's because Id have a positive and negative 24...
