the exponent of x in the numerator is higher, so what do you think will be the answer ? (think of infinity as a very large number)

hartnn (hartnn):

then you will have to find the sign too, numerator is positive/negative ?? denominator is positive/negative ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 and -2

hartnn (hartnn):

what do u think is the answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i find the answer?

hartnn (hartnn):

logically thinking, since exponent of x in numerator is higher, it will increase more rapidly than denominator mathematically, divide numerator and denominator by x^3 (by highest exponent of x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it negative infinate?

hartnn (hartnn):

since x-> infinity 1/x = 0, 1/x^2 = 0, 1/x^3 =0 and yes, final answer is indeed -infinity

thank you !

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
