The theme of the story "The Drummer boy of Shiloh" is to never give up and be brave. This is the theme because at the beginning of the story the main character Joby is interested in joining the war as a drummer boy but he doesn't think he can do it . towards the middle he began thinking about it and didn't believe he can do it or be the person that he wanted to be. But at the end he became confident and brave . This theme can connect to the real world because if you don't believe in yourself and achieve your goals your going to make no where in life . you can never give up and doubt yourself.

Towards the middle, he began thinking about it and didn't believe he can do it, but at the end he became confident in himself and wanted to do it. This theme can connect to the real world because if you don't believe in yourself and achieve your goals your life could be difficult to go through. You should never try to doubt yourself or put yourself down. Just know that you can do it.
